Yup. My first day was today, manning a new store for Computer Depot all by myself. So I haven’t really “managed” anybody yet, but they trust me enough to leave me alone. I’ve known about the promotion since the middle of June about 2 weeks after I was hired (If that’s not a record, I don’t know what is), and haven’t been able to say anything about it because the boss didn’t want me to. But now that the store is open, and I’m in the position, I can say something now.

I’m sitting here right before bed typing this on my iPod Touch, so this may not be up to my usual standard of formatting.  How was your Fourth of July?  I had a great one.  After I returned here from work, of course.

That’s right, I got a job!

Boy, it’s been awhile since I posted. Since then, I’ve moved back to Kansas where job opportunities are more plentiful, interviewed for a job in Stillwater for Geek Squad, been sending resumes out the wazoo, and wondering why after only 10-11 hours awake I’m tired again.

And I haven’t touched my novel. I really want to get back to it, but it seems Sundays have been quite busy for me.

I just wanted to chime in and let you know that the first webisode in a new Star Wars fan film has been released called Rise of the Rebellion…

I’ve managed to start in on Lesson 2 of How To Revise Your Novel in earnest this last Sunday, which is going through the novel and finding out just what I promised so that I can see if I broke or ignored any of them. I made it to page 25 of my 400 page manuscript–almost to the end of Chapter 2. It’s not a lot of progress, strictly speaking…

This is going to be a long post. I haven’t done any revisions this weekend because over the Easter weekend, it became very clear to me that my current method of dealing with not being in a career–which is to say, not doing any active job searching and instead relying on my new business of Bright Idea Computers plus my current part-time job at K-Mart to provide the income–was not working very well. And what’s more, it can’t work very well. There is no short-term plan for survival in this.

In fact, it’s not a plan. It’s pie in the sky.
