Who is Chris Walker?
Chris, as he is known to his friends, was raised in Kansas and is deeply fascinated by history, philosophy, and how the development of our culture has affected our notions of fatherhood and growing up. He currently lives in Vancouver, WA in a third-floor apartment along with his Star Wars novel collection. He is also suffering from a horrible Minecraft addiction. Send an intervention team, please.
Influences
Chris’s influences are varied and many. He became a fan of Star Wars and writing at the same time when his brother Matthew got him his first novel, Star Wars: X-Wing: The Bacta War for Christmas. Star Wars became a pivotal influence, becoming the gateway that eventually reintroduced him to childhood stories from Teddy Ruxpin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Care Bears, and He-Man, and introducing him to new stories from Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Star Trek, to Dr. Who.
Chris eventually found a love for virtual reality through building SW City with several of his closest friends. Inevitably storytelling also found its way into that virtual world through the city’s worldbuilding and lore. Click on SW City to learn more about it.
Chris became a Christian when he was three. But it wasn’t until college when he made his faith his own, when he became interested in Christian apologetics. As a follower of Jesus, Chris maintains a healthy interest in theology and philosophy.
It was this interest that caused him to develop an interest in American politics–but not the shrill and raving aspect of it that one tends to find from every political spectrum when skimming the surface of talk radio and the Internet.
Chris has selected several of his favorite media influences. Click on Favorite Influences to see what drives Chris and learn more about what he believes.
