I’ve managed to start in on Lesson 2 of How To Revise Your Novel in earnest this last Sunday, which is going through the novel and finding out just what I promised so that I can see if I broke or ignored any of them.  I made it to page 25 of my 400 page manuscript–almost to the end of Chapter 2.  It’s not a lot of progress, strictly speaking, but I also needed time to wrap my mind around the process–to learn just what I was looking for and how to document it.  I am confident that I’ll make a lot more progress next Sunday.

On the job search front, I’m finally starting to acclimatize to waking up early almost every day.  I’m still feeling tired, but I hope that will go away. I fired off a bunch of resumes to online job postings on Thursday, was surprised by a Bible Study on Friday evening, and was so mentally drained from working and getting up so early for so long that I blew off Saturday.  It’s an okay start, but I hope to do better this week.

Jordyn and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon with two of her friends.  I loved that movie.  So much so that I immediately bought the soundtrack, and I will be buying the DVD when it comes out.  There’s just something about Scottish Vikings that’s appealing.  I’m not sure.  But the story was also very good.  I was surprised because I thought it was just going to be a fluff movie.  I don’t tend to buy films unless they’re impressive and deal with themes that matter to me.

Who else was impressed with the movie?  If you haven’t seen it, and if you liked Up or even Field of Dreams, I recommend you see this one as well.
